CIC raises concerns to government over new school sprinkler policy

The Construction Industry Council (CIC) has written to the Secretary of State for the Department for Education about new guidance which appears to reduce the level of fire suppression in schools.

Industry Competence Committee launches consultation on draft expectations for informed clients

The Industry Competence Committee (ICC) has launched a consultation on its draft Principles for Informed Clients. APS CEO Andrew Leslie is a member of this client guidance development group, helping to shape the draft principles. APS will submit a response to the consultation and encourages members to engage as well.

Welsh Senedd passes Building Safety (Wales) Bill

On Tuesday 10th March 2026, the Senedd passed the Building Safety (Wales) Bill — one of the largest pieces of legislation ever considered by the Senedd, taking a major step forward in protecting residents in their homes by putting in place a new safety regime for the occupation phase.
