Corporate membership

Being an APS corporate member means your business demonstrates nationally recognised competence in the disciplines of Designer and Principal Designer. APS also offers assessments so your firm can prove its competence in the non-statutory roles of CDM adviser & consultant to the Principal Designer (PD Adviser). APS provides a one-stop-shop looking after your ongoing SSIP membership and managing your annual reassessment.

Your business, whether in the private or public sector, as well as being able to prove it meets nationally recognised standards [as set out by SSIP], also has access to an unrivalled range of member benefits including:

How to apply

There are two routes to APS corporate membership:

SSIP applications

This corporate membership is for you if you have already been recognised by a quality assurance body and signed up to the SSIP scheme. Any business that has passed an assessment under SSIP ["Deem to Satisfy"] for Designer and Principal Designer does not have to be assessed again by APS. Once you have paid your membership fee APS can admit you as a member there and then.

Benefits of this level of Corporate membership are:

  • Entry on APS Website Directory
  • Use of Registered Mark
  • Practice Notes and Guidance Library
  • Project Safety Journal
  • Discounted APS Publications
  • Use of Site Signboards
  • Free advertising on job vacancies to your key audience of professionals;
  • Discounted group event bookings
  • Selected promotional discounts on events

Non-SSIP applications (APS Assessment):

If you do not have SSIP Deem to Satisfy, you will have to undergo an assessment by APS. APS will then take care of your SSIP membership for you.

Being part of the SSIP scheme means you will find it easier to bid for work as your quality processes for Designer and Principal Designer have been independently verified to a nationally recognised standard.

To be eligible for this register you must have an under-pinning APS member, IMaPS or CMaPS level, and be an employee of the business. Further information can be found here https://www.aps.org.uk/membership/becoming-individual-member

Benefits of this level of membership are:

  • Practice Notes and Guidance Library
  • Project Safety Journal
  • Practice Advisory Panel Helpline
  • Legal Helpline
  • Discounted APS Publications
  • Use of Registered Mark
  • Use of Site Signboards
  • Entry on APS Website Directory
  • Free advertising on job vacancies to your key audience of professionals
  • Up to 10 electronic copies annually of the best-selling industry standard APS Form of Appointment;
  • SSIP Scheme Membership
