APS PDBR Register
The Association for Project Safety [APS] has launched a Principal Designer Building Regulations (PDBR) register so practitioners can demonstrate their competence to carry out the new dutyholder role created under the Building Regulations 2010 (England) as amended in 2023 and in accordance with PAS 8671. Employing someone on the APS PDBR Register will also allow clients to show that they are aware of their duties under the law.
Clients have a legal duty under the Building Regulations to carry out due diligence on organisations that they intend to appoint as Principal Designer. The PDBR Register provides evidence that an individual registrant has been assessed as competent to deliver the PDBR role on behalf of their employer organisation. Registration as a Principal Designer will make it easier for organisations to demonstrate their competence to clients.
There will be two parts to the APS Register – to reflect competence relating to non-HRBs and HRBs (Higher Risk Buildings).
This register is available to members and non members.
