About the speaker

Colin Brooks - Triton Power

Worked in the power generation industry for over 45 years.
Held many multi-disciplined positions on several sites but mainly focussing on plant performance, environment, health and safety and ISO management systems.
Post retirement in 2019, Colin was re-employed by Deeside in 2020 to advise and assist in:
• Conversion of the plant to synchronous compensation operation to provide stability support to the Grid
• Demolition of the redundant parts of the site

Phil Rafferty - Triton Power

Phil is a Chartered Engineer with over 25 years in the Power Industry He is an APMP IQMA Level 7 qualified Project Manager who has worked multiple roles throughout in both Operations and Projects.
Currently the Station Manager at Deeside CCGT where I was responsible for the world’s first Gas Turbine conversion into a Synchronous Compensator.
