National Members Representative Group (NMRG )

As a candidate for the regional representative position of the Association for Project Safety, I will bring a unique combination of skills, experience, and passion.

Throughout my career, I have worked extensively in manufacturing and construction and have always made safety a top priority. I firmly believe that every project must be executed with the highest level of safety, and I am committed to promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.

As a Regional Representative, I would bring this passion and dedication to the role. Moreover, I am a natural communicator, with a proven track record of building strong relationships with team members and stakeholders. My ability to effectively convey complex information and negotiate effectively has enabled me to achieve project objectives and overcome challenges. In addition to my professional expertise, I am deeply committed to serving our community and giving back in any way I can.

I am excited to bring this same level of dedication to the Association for Project Safety and to work collaboratively with you to achieve our shared objectives. I am honoured to represent you as Regional Representative, and I pledge to work tirelessly on your behalf to ensure the highest standards.

John Murray

National Members Representative Group (NMRG )

I have been involved as a CDM health and safety practitioner in the construction industry for nearly 24 years, working across NI, GB and the Republic of Ireland in a variety of business sectors.

I have been an APS member since 2002 and joined the Northern Ireland regional committee in 2003, becoming Secretary in 2006. For 20 years, I have assisted the committee in creating and facilitating local events for members to attend, as well as engaging with HSENI and partnering with other professional bodies. I have also represented the APS NI in the Construction Industry Group Professionals Council. On behalf of APS NI, I submitted the formal response to the HSENI public consultation regarding the previous change to the CDM Regulations and I also participated in a HSENI Consultative Discussion Forum debating the new CDM regulatory impacts on the NI construction industry and represented APS NI in the HSENI CDM Implementation Group reviewing pathways for promoting the new CDM 2016 Regulations.

As a Regional Representative, I wish to:

  • build on the long standing work of the APS NI committee and seek to continue relationships with HSENI and our other local partners
  • review local event offerings for members whilst embracing online options
  • be an active vocal representative for NI during future regulatory reforms and any changes to the CDM Regulations or impact of the Building Safety Act upon the NI construction industry
  • Be available to NI members to represent their views
