Retrofitting Decarbonisation
Delivered by AJ Eaton - Monday 24 October 2022
About the Event
Retrofitting is the addition of new technology and modern features to older or outdated systems. There are many reasons to include retrofitting in your projects, and it’s been used for largescale projects such as navy vessels, manufacturing plants etc. Retrofits can also be important to update buildings for changing codes or legal requirements.
Additionally, retrofitting is an important part of climate change mitigation and adaption to climate change – as many infrastructures were built prior to these changes. Retrofitting can increase efficiency of buildings, including maintaining structural health and integrity during extreme weather events.
This session will cover:
- Primarily focused on decarbonisation of housing
- Background to legislation
- Scale of the Challenge
- Green skills gap
- Funding
- Regulation & Accreditations
