In the session, it will cover what is modern slavery, UK stats, UK construction case study, how someone working next to you could be being exploited, how to spot the signs and what to do if you suspect something.

About the speaker

Susan Banister - Slave-Free Alliance

Susan Banister is the Accounts Director for Slave-Free Alliance. 

Susan Banister joined Hope for Justice in 2017 and set up Slave-Free Alliance in 2018.

Susan has hands on experience of rescuing victims of forced labour in the UK and understands the devastating effect this crime has and how victims and businesses can find themselves exploited.

Susan currently works with businesses looking at modern slavery in their own organisations and their supply chains. 

She leads a number of modern slavery working groups including the waste and recycling and utilities sectors.
