About the webinar

This session will discuss Mental Health in general and why early detection is paramount from a biological and psychological perspective.

We will also hear about a real-life journey where the system failed the speaker and his family, and how that has motivated him to help those in distress who can’t seem to get the support they need.

Alan Dovey

Alan has worked in mental health for over 30 years and is both an accredited psychotherapist and senior Lecturer University of Staffordshire.

He has lectured extensively around the UK and internationally on various mental health specialities and has specialised in occupational health and medicine for the last 15 years leading the provision at Jaguar Landrover Plc, Western Power Distribution, West Midlands Fire service and Lincolnshire Police.

He specialises in the treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders as well as trauma.

Mark Boorman

Mark is a Project Director for Turner & Townsend and runs major programmes for clients in his day job.

Mark began his interest with mental health as a parent who needed support and the ‘system’ failed him and his family several years ago. Since then, he has become motivated to help those in distress who can’t seem to get the support they need. He has become a Mental Health First Aider, and he is now T&T’s Wellbeing lead in the UK.
