APS Briefing note: Radon

Radon is a colourless and odourless radioactive gas that rises in air from

rock deposits in the earth. It can permeate buildings, bringing radiation into

homes and workspaces. It is an established carcinogen.


Action can be taken to mitigate the spread of radon in existing

buildings and to protect new buildings from radon ingress.
