This webinar will provide an update and review to recent legislation and best practice specifically aimed towards Designers and Principal Designers duties, both current and proposed.

Tony has 32 years in the fire sector (27 with the fire and rescue service), Tony is one of only around 65 UKAS third-party accredited life safety fire risk assessors listed on the FRACS register (and also the TFRAR list) and one of only a handful of professionals who are also third-party accredited fire door inspectors, through both FDIS and NAFDI.

A newly co-opted member of the national council for the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM), as part of their competency subgroup, he is working on establishing career pathways for future fire risk assessors, building on the work of the Industry Safety Steering Group following the Grenfell tragedy.

Tony created the Fire Safety Consortium North in 2019, whereby a small group of third party accredited fire professionals provide both support and resilience to each other in what can only be described as an unknown time of change within the overall fire sector.

Working with a host of clients from Tayside to Bracknell, from design strategies to the very successful two-day fire door inspection course for residential properties, he is passionate about education and providing much needed knowledge and experience to the sector.

A national speaker for a number of companies, Tony will present on the changing climate of fire safety since June 2017, the warnings which came before that, and the legislative `soup` it currently finds itself in.
