About the Event
The aim of this session is to ensure that personnel are aware of the legal and best practice requirements when using collective and fall protection equipment and to be aware of their responsibilities as a duty holder to show compliance to the working at height regulations.
The objectives are as follows:
• Have an understanding of the working at height Hierarchy of Control
• Be able to identify working at heights risks in line with a fall protection system
• Appreciate the requirements for rescue plans and why this must work
• Be able to recognise the importance of inspection of equipment
• Have an understanding of the three types of fall protection systems
Peter Jackson
Peter is a safety advisor / training compliance officer for North West Utility Solutions and North West Training Academy. Peter has been in the industry for over 25 years and currently teaches 32 different health and safety subjects. He specialises mainly around confined spaces and working at heights and is accredited to deliver the full suite of CITB Constructions Skills courses.
Peter is a fully qualified tutor and assessor “IAQ & EAQ” in health and safety and holds Levels 3,4,5 & 6 diploma in occupational safety and health.
Peter has his own consultancy company “75 Service Ltd” where he provides clients with up-to-date safety advice and assists in producing policies, safety systems and procedures to ensure clients are legally compliant in workplaces. He also assists clients with technical working around confined space entry and rescue, working at height and other specialist tasks.
