Dr Richard Atkins will be discussing the use of materials and how their detrimental environmental impact, both during construction and in use, can be minimised. 

There will be a panel discussion on the subject of sustainable building practises after the presentation.

About the speaker

Richard has over 35 years’ experience and completed a PhD in the Assessment of Social, Financial and Environmental Sustainability in the Existing Built Environment in 2017. 

Since 2000 Richard has specialised in producing buildings, that: minimise their detrimental environmental impact, both during construction and in use; reinterpret and conserve traditional buildings; and meet community and social needs.

Richard is a Certifier of Design (Section 6 – Energy) Domestic and a New Build Domestic Energy Assessor.
