About the Event

Retrofitting is the addition of new technology and modern features to older or outdated systems. There are many reasons to include retrofitting in your projects, and it’s been used for largescale projects such as navy vessels, manufacturing plants etc. Retrofits can also be important to update buildings for changing codes or legal requirements.

Additionally, retrofitting is an important part of climate change mitigation and adaption to climate change – as many infrastructures were built prior to these changes. Retrofitting can increase efficiency of buildings, including maintaining structural health and integrity during extreme weather events.

This session will cover:

  • How Intelligent Energy Systems (IES) are utilised to manage energy consumption, monitor energy use and property conditions, predict energy demand and why this is an essential part of any decarbonisation model.
  • How robotics have been utilised to improve energy efficiency.
  • Lessons learnt from completed decarbonisation projects.
  • Data security and the use of block chain technology.
