About our speakers

  • Philip Baker is a currently a Director and Past President of APS.  Trained as a Building Engineer, Philip has been working with CDM for 25 years, advising, supporting and training all the CDM duty holders
  • Margaret Sackey works at University College London, Capital Projects Division and has been Involved in the work of the H&S Expert Panel at Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) which promotes the use of the risk management best practices to ICE members, industry and wider society.
  • Peter Waxman CDM Consultant, has been a RIBA Chartered Architect for over 30 years, and has undertaken the coordination of CDM for more than 20 years. Peter is a Technical Member of IoSH and an Incorporated Member of the APS. He also holds a further Master’s Degree in Art and Architecture. Peter is a member of the RIBA Health and Safety Expert Panel, the APS’s London Regional Committee and APS CDM Client Advisor Group.
  • Paul Bussey is a practising Architect who also specialises in the design integration of CDM, Fire and Inclusive Design issues into Architectural Projects of all types and sizes. He has been a member of the RIBA’s Fire Expert Panel for 2.5 years since the Grenfell fire and as a fellow of the Institute of Fire Engineers and various other Safety organisations he is preparing proposed recommendations for Approved Document B revisions for existing, proposed and new buildings. 
  • Mark Snelling is managing director of Safetymark Consultancy Services, a health, safety and fire consultancy. Mark has been involved in the Hackitt Review, as adviser to The Association of Residential Managing Agents (ARMA) and contributed to an industry working group set up to identify the way forward. As well as his work with ARMA, he is also a CDM adviser on major projects for a number of Build UK contractors.
  • Stephen Coppin is Team Leader & Associate Technical Director at Arcadis, Trained and practiced over 8 years a Mechanical Engineering Design Draughts person, followed by Military Engineering with the Royal Engineers and has been advising and delivering training on H&S on a wide capacity for over 30 years. Current chair of the CIOB HS&W SIG, Chartered Fellow of IOSH, Fellow of APS, IIRSM and CIOB. Strategic H&S advisor for a large developer setting policy with the supply chain.
