Golden thread – learnings after 4 years of the Building Safety Act

Information management is a key area of practice for CDM and Building Regulations dutyholders, including Principal Designers and Clients under both regimes. Enhanced information and documentation requirements came into play for Higher-Risk Buildings (HRB) since the Building Safety Act entered into force almost three years ago.

Join our discussion with Jonathan Zokay, former MHCLG official responsible for the golden thread policy and co-author of CLC Golden thread guidance turned Client, and Aman Sharma, key golden thread authority, government influencer and co-author to various official CLC golden thread guidance. After a short presentation outlining the golden thread context, key requirements and their purpose, and an overview of key CLC/BSR guidance on information requirements when moving from gateway 2 to 3, we will move into a panel discussion where the panel will share their experiences around implementation, how they approach compliance, what it means for golden thread standards in non-HRB and what their key learnings have been to date.

Given this aims to be a conversational session with this authoritative panel, we would encourage the audience to send in their questions in advance to charlotte.hughes@aps.org.uk
