APS’s achievement of accreditation to the ISO 14001 standard marks a significant milestone in its commitment to environmental stewardship, particularly relevant as the UK intensifies efforts to reach net zero targets. ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems, ensuring organisations systematically manage their environmental responsibilities in a sustainable manner. By attaining this accreditation, APS aims to support our members understand how importance compliance is in relation to industry best practices but also proactive leadership within the construction sector, where environmental concerns are increasingly critical.

The construction industry has long been associated with substantial environmental impacts, including resource consumption, waste generation, and carbon emissions. With environmental issues now taking centre stage due to both public concern and governmental policy, especially as the UK charts a path towards net zero, APS’s ISO 14001 accreditation signals its alignment with national priorities.
