Associate Membership (AaPS)

This category is open to all in the construction sector who are starting out, or wish to develop experience, in design or construction health and safety risk management. Please note, this category of membership is not assessed. If you are relying on your membership to demonstrate competence, then either the IMaPS or CMaPS level of membership would be required.

Is this for me?

Perfect for suitably experienced graduates and experienced practitioners, with an interest in construction safety and health risk management, and can be used as a stepping stone to the next level of membership: Incorporated Membership (IMaPS).

What are the eligibility criteria?

You must demonstrate a minimum of 3 years experience in construction or relevant academic qualifications in construction, design or construction health and safety.

What is the annual cost?

There is a £40 initial application fee. Once all processes for membership have been completed you will be invited to become a member and pay the annual subscription fee due, currently £225.

Table of credit points

Download this document to assist you in self-assessing your points within the qualifications section of your application. You will need this to apply for AaPS. 

There are three tables of credits, each designed to correspond to the appropriate box within the qualifications section of the AaPS application form. All Design related qualifications start with an APS reference D; all Health and Safety qualifications start with an APS reference H: and all Construction qualifications start with an APS reference C.

Do I need to sit the CDM2015 online exam?

No, this is not required at this level of membership.

What post-nominal letters can I use?

As an Associate Member you will be entitled to use AaPS to promote your name to clients and industry.
