Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) and the UK Construction Industry
an introduction for health and safety professionals

The primary purpose of the seminar is to raise awareness of the potential risk UXO can pose to construction projects in the UK. 

Following the presentation, attendees should have an understanding of why UXO can be an issue, with some knowledge of potential sources of historic contamination/means by which UXO could end up on a construction site. An increased familiarity with types of UXO and very basic recognition will be gained, with a better understanding of when UXO should be considered in a project lifecycle, how the risk is assessed, and what the options/methods are for mitigation of the risk.
