Anyone who has had to renew their Professional Indemnity Insurance lately, will be aware that not only have the costs increased significantly, but the information requested has also ballooned.
The fallout from the Grenfell fire enquiry and pending legislation, has increased the insurance industries perceived risk of the construction sector and all those involved within it. This has led to a rise in premium costs and a flutter of questions and caveats aimed at reducing the insurance industries risks and liabilities. Although good for the insurers, this increasingly difficult for the average consultant, designer, engineer or contractor.
