About the Event 

By now, many will be familiar with the introduction of the Building Safety Act 2022, as a direct response to the Grenfell fire and while the Act received Royal Assent in April 2022, there are many parts of the Act that are not yet in force.

The focus has so far been on high risk residential buildings and defective building claims, but many things remain somewhat "hidden" in the detail of the Act.

This session will be led by Kizzy Augustin, Head of Health and Safety at Mishcon de Reya, and she will discuss issues of accountability and dutyholder status, the broad changes to the fire safety regime and how to demonstrate mitigation of risk and "hidden" criminal liability through existing health and safety obligations.
