About the speakers - Jonathan Rennie and Fraser Vandall

Jonathan is an experienced litigator who has worked exclusively in employment law since qualification.

He is dual qualified in Scotland and England and Wales and is recognised as an accredited specialist in employment law by the Law Society of Scotland. Jonathan has significant corporate experience having qualified as a Chartered Secretary and worked in house for FTSE 100 companies.

Jonathan regularly presents on employment law topics at conferences and seminars and has acted for both public and private sector clients in high value litigation including whistleblowing and disability discrimination claims.

He also chairs judicial disciplinary panels for both the Scottish Football Association and the Scottish Rugby Union, as well as working with sports organisations on contentious employment matters including player and manager disputes and exits. He is a trustee of the sports charity, Street League, and in 2021 was appointed to the Sport Resolutions’ panel of arbitrators and mediators as a Legal Arbitrator.

Fraser is an Associate in TLT’s Employment team with a dual specialism in both Employment and Business Immigration matters.

Fraser has significant experience in advising clients on contentious matters, including Employment Tribunal litigation. He regularly advises household names in the retail, financial services, logistics and construction sectors in their defence of Tribunal cases – including conducting both in-person and remote hearings. Fraser’s advice is key to ensuring that clients are fully informed of risks involved in litigation, especially financial and reputational risks.

With his dual specialism, Fraser is particularly well-placed to advise on the complex interplay between employment and business immigration matters. Fraser’s advice has been crucial in helping several businesses secure Home Office Sponsor Licences in order to widen their recruitment pools. He regularly advises clients on right to work matters and visa processes
