In this presentation we will discuss the challenges and opportunities on the ongoing delivery of the Luncarty to Pass of Birnam scheme and give a brief overview of the wider A9 dualling programme.
The Luncarty to Pass of Birnam scheme is currently being upgraded from single to dual carriageway as part of Transport Scotland's £3 billion A9 dualling programme to upgrade 80 miles (129 kilometres) of road. The scheme consists of 9.5 km of D2AP to Cat 7A Standard with 2 grade separated junctions at Luncarty (Tullybelton/Stanley Junction) and Bankfoot.
About our speakers
Ian Pate is the Senior Roads Engineer with Jacobs as part of the Engineer’s site team at the A9 Luncarty to Pass of Birnam scheme.
Ian is a Civil Engineer with 15 years’ experience on a range of projects. His most recent role was a Senior Roads Engineer for the South of Dee section of the AWPR before joining the A9 Dualling team
Alan Brisbane is Project Manager for the Contractor Balfour Beatty at the A9 Luncarty to Pass of Birnam scheme.
Alan is a Civil Engineer with 30 years’ experience in the industry, 23 years of which in the Project Manager role delivering a range of schemes. His most recent role was delivering the A9/A85 Junction Improvements and Link Road to Bertha Park for Perth & Kinross Council under the Scape Framework before joining the A9 Dualling team.
