Our speakers - Philip Baker, Margaret Sackey, Paul Bussey and John Carpenter
Philip is currently a Director and Past President of APS. Trained as a Building Engineer, Philip has been working with CDM for 25 years, advising, supporting, and training all of the CDM duty holders
Margaret works at University College London, Capital Projects Division and has been Involved in the work of the H&S Expert Panel at Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) which promotes the use of the risk management best practices to ICE members, industry, and wider society.
Paul is a practising Architect who also specialises in the design integration of CDM, Fire and Inclusive Design issues into Architectural Projects of all types and sizes. He has been a member of the RIBA’s Fire Expert Panel for 2.5 years since the Grenfell fire and as a fellow of the Institute of Fire Engineers and various other Safety organisations he is preparing proposed recommendations for Approved Document B revisions for existing, proposed and new buildings.
John is an independent consultant in structural and civil engineering. He has authored several publications on design risk management, the most recent being “Designing a Safer Built Environment: A complete guide to the management of design risk”. This is currently available from the ICE. He is a past Secretary of CROSS and of the Temporary Works Forum and is the 2021 ICE Gold Medallist.
