APS Spring webinar series: Controlling contractors on site

Date: Tuesday 19 March 2024
This was an on-line event.
Topic: APS Spring webinar series - The more you know

About the event

Contractors are professionals who provide skills or services to companies for a set period. They may be contracted for a set number of hours, a certain time frame, or the duration of a project.

Whether employed or independent, contractors can work on one or multiple contracts at a time. And with transferrable skills, contractors can often work with a variety of businesses.

Both you (Client) and the contractor you use have responsibilities under health and safety law.

Everyone needs to take the right precautions to reduce the risks of workplace dangers to employees and the public.

Make sure everyone understands the part they need to play in ensuring health and safety.

The client organisation would need to make someone (competent) to be responsible for informing the contractor the site rules and procedures (working hours, no go areas, permits to work etc.) and the need for this information to be passed to any subcontractors. This webinar will demonstrate how this can be achieved.
