Who is this course for?

This course is designed for CDM practitioners, Principal Designers, Designers, Principal Contractors, Contractors, and anyone with responsibilities for Temporary Works (TW) under CDM 2015. A core area of practice for our designer audience, this course will provide a firm grounding when considering temporary works during design, while our contractor audience will find the course a useful introduction to the subject or as a refresher to what they need to know.  This training equips you with the knowledge and tools you need to address Temporary Works issues safely and effectively. It has been designed to give you immediate improvements you can apply on your projects the very next day.

Morning Sessions

  • Welcome & Introduction – Setting the scene for Temporary Works in CDM.
  • Module 1: Introduction to Temporary Works in a CDM Context
  • Module 2: Legal Duties for Temporary Works Management under CDM 2015
  • Module 3: BS 5975 in Practice – Core Principles
  • Module 4: TW Design and Design Risk Management

Afternoon Sessions

  • Module 5: Planning, Coordination & Supervision of Temporary Works
  • Module 6: Common TW Failures and Lessons Learned
  • Module 7: Competence & Training Requirements
  • Module 8: Practical Tools & Templates
  • Assessment & Feedback – A short multiple-choice test to confirm learning.

  • A certificate of completion demonstrating your knowledge of Temporary Works management in a CDM context, plus on completion of the knowledge exam at the end you will receive a certificate showing your pass mark.
