APS Fellows Shape Response to Government Consultation on Professionalising the Industry
The APS Fellows Forum recently convened a series of ad hoc meetings to consider two important publications that touch on significant challenges facing the industry: the lessons emerging from the Second CDM Post-Implementation Review and the evidence the Association should submit in response to the Government's Call for Evidence consultation on professionalising the industry.
To help shape the Association's response, APS Fellows Chair Philip Baker, brought together Fellows to share their expertise, insights and practical experience. Following initial drafting work by Sofie Hooper, Deputy CEO, a second meeting was held to support the finalisation of the APS response to the Government's Call for Evidence.
The discussions were highly engaging and drew on the considerable experience of APS Fellows, generating valuable insights on both the consultation and the wider challenges facing practitioners across the industry. These contributions played an important role in shaping and strengthening the Association's submission to the Call for Evidence, while also making a real difference in strengthening APS’s ambition to raise the voice of our professionals more widely
The Association would like to thank all Fellows who participated in the discussions, including Dave Carr, Rebecca Weir, Victoria Heath, Richard Hartley, Michael Stowell, John Nielsen, Philip Baker, Derek Bradshaw, Jonathan King, Nicola Knowles, Bryn Wilde, Margaret Sackey, Tara Fry, Russ Charnock, Chris Platt, Fela Ajayi and Simon Toseland, for generously sharing their time, knowledge and perspectives.
Particular thanks go to Fellows Stephen Coppin, Margaret Sackey, Philip Baker (Fellows Chair), Jonathan King and Richard Hartley for their additional post-meeting contributions, which further supported the development of the Association's response to the Call for.
