APS CPD 45 – Design Risk Management for CDM
presented by: Paul Bussey; Steve Coppin; and Tony Putsman.
CPD 45 is included in the annual APS subscription for members. Sessions will run online throughout September and October 2020.
The implementation of Design Risk Management to comply with the CDM regulations remains widely misunderstood. It is a hugely diverse field involving varied processes depending upon the type, size and complexity of a project, as well as the experience of the project involved. This can cause confusion for everyone - including the client, design and construction teams - expecting to apply one method of risk evaluation to all projects. It has become clear that the method of facilitation for the process varies greatly depending on the type of project – e.g. civil engineering, architecture, general construction or surveying. The main discipline of the Principal Designer organisation, in control of the pre-construction phase” will also play an important part. This course is targeted at all types of projects from conception to practical completion.
