APS Annual General Meeting 2026

The APS Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Wednesday 9 September 2026 at Aston University, Aston Street, Birmingham, B4 7ET. Members are invited to attend, participate in the Association's governance, and vote on key matters affecting APS.

Registration

This event is open to APS members only.

Advance registration is required and must be completed by 12:00pm on Monday 7 September 2026. Members will be asked to provide their membership number during registration to verify their membership status.

Please note that pre-registration is mandatory. Only members who have registered in advance and whose membership has been verified will be admitted to the AGM. Members who have not registered by the closing date will not be permitted entry.

  • The reappointment of the Association's Independent Reviewers.
  • Proposed changes to the Association's Articles of Association.

Meeting Papers

On the Day

  • Registration opens at 7:15am.
  • The Annual General Meeting will commence promptly at 8:00am.
  • Members are encouraged to arrive in good time to complete registration before the meeting starts.
  • Members who arrive after 8:00am will not be permitted entry to the AGM. To avoid disappointment, please ensure you arrive in sufficient time to complete registration before the meeting commences.
  • You may find it useful to bring a copy of the AGM Notice and meeting papers for reference during the meeting.

Questions

Members are strongly encouraged to submit questions relating to AGM business in advance by emailing info@aps.org.uk no later than 12:00pm on Monday 7 September 2026. This will assist the Association in managing questions effectively and making the best use of the time available during the meeting.

As the AGM forms part of the APS Conference programme and is being held within a tightly scheduled agenda, time available for questions during the meeting may be limited. Consequently, the Association cannot guarantee that questions raised on the day will be addressed.

Members who wish to receive a response to a question are therefore strongly advised to submit it in advance. Any opportunity for questions during the AGM will be at the discretion of the Chair and subject to time constraints.

Have Your Say

The AGM is an important opportunity for members to review the Association's activities, participate in decision-making, and help shape the future direction of APS. We look forward to welcoming you to Birmingham.
