About the speakers
Heath McHugh CMIOSH, has been Health & Safety Manager at MGF Excavation Safety Solutions since 2012 is a chartered member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) & has over 15 years’ experience as a Health & Safety Practitioner. Heath is currently Chair of the Merseyside Manchester & Cheshire Working Well Together Group a joint industry/HSE initiative promoting Health & Safety best practice in the Construction Industry.
Sam Cherrington MEng (Hons) EngTech MICE, graduated with an MEng (Hons) degree in Civil Engineer from the University of Salford in 2016. He is currently working as a Design Engineer within the engineering team at MGF and has 4 years of temporary works design experience. This involves designing, drawing and checking temporary works designs for a variety of sectors such as highways, water, and utilities using proprietary equipment to support large cofferdams. He also has experience in completing a variety of high-risk schemes such as permanent cantilever retaining walls and temporary works designs subject to Network Rail approval. Sam is currently working towards IEng status through the company ICE approved training scheme.
