The CDM 2015 Regulations were introduced to change the way we think and deal with Design Risk Management on a day to day basis.
Significant risk identification, proportionality, less unnecessary bureaucracy, better team working and better project management encourages better quality and value for everyone.
IIRSM is working with the RIBA to run a series of design risk management workshops which start next month. James Addley, member of the APS board, will be presenting on the day. APS members will receive a 10% discount on the booking fee by using the code APSOFFER when booking via the IIRSM website. Discount will be applied when checking out.
These workshops will provide construction industry designers, clients, contractors and other practitioners and professionals with new knowledge of how to facilitate a CDM Project Review Process that will meet the needs of all duty holders and the new expectations of the industry.
What will I learn?
You will be analysing the relevant detail and working collaboratively with others to identify significant risks, mitigate their impact, record the significant findings and produce suitable information to communicate these measures proportionately. By taking delegates through completed projects these workshops will ensure a greater understanding of how to apply the regulations to projects of various scale and type.
What will the workshop involve?
Represenatives from ICE, RIBA, RICS and APS will present four projects that require a design risk management approach and IIRSM facilitators will work with delegates through four stages:
- Concept Stage
- Initial CDM Review
- Detailed CDM Review
- Risk Documentation, Communication & Future Asset Management
Delegates will practically work on one project whilst also witnessing feedback from the other three.
Delegates are expected to have a working knowledge of the CDM 2015 Regulations.
