About the event
Working Well Together is a cross-industry partnership with the aim of improving standards of health and safety in our industry.
The goal is meaningful and sustained reduction in injury and ill-health. The benefit is not only a reduction in the pain and suffering caused to our fellow workers, but there are also real gains to be made in productivity, pride and professionalism.
Designers have a big influence on all of these factors. Early consideration of health and safety issues can resolve many of the problems that contractors face. We all know that changes cropping up during the construction phase can be expensive. The cost of failure to plan effectively is reflected in the high levels of injury and ill-health amongst our workforce.
Designers have a crucial role in improving the performance of the industry but they need to be more proactive. You will gain a valuable perspective on the designer role in construction. Please ensure that at least one of your colleagues attends.
