The planning of our 10th annual National CDM Awards is well under way, and part of the preparation is collaborating with our stakeholders and other key partners, to ensure the scheme is a huge success through different sponsorship packages.
We caught up with Tara Fry, Senior Associate Director, at Waterman Group, to find out why – as a first-time sponsor – she decided to get involved with the awards this year.
Why did you choose to sponsor APS' National CDM and Student Designer Awards?
Waterman Group entered the National CDM Awards last year and was fantastically supported by the team at APS. We felt sponsoring the Health & Safety category this year aligns with our business objectives, and health and safety is at the heart of that. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to meet new people, build our professional network, and explore new business opportunities while raising our profile.
What are you hoping to achieve by sponsoring the awards?
Other than collaborating with some of the biggest and best players in the construction health and safety sector, we really want to support APS with its fantastic work, to ensure the event can continue successfully for many years to come.
What's your experience been like working with the team at APS to secure the sponsorship?
I’ve worked with APS for many years, including serving on the Welsh committee. They have supported me throughout my career and provide a valuable service to their members. The team at APS are professional, friendly and always great to work with. It’s been a real pleasure securing our sponsorship deal.
Tell us a little bit about your experience of attending the National CDM and Student Designer Awards in the past?
Personally, I attended last year for the first time and loved the social aspect of it – the evening is a real celebration of professional practice. This year, I’m using the opportunity to repay my team of consultants; it’s not often we get to socialise together as we all work across the UK on specific projects. Having been myself last year, I know my team will really enjoy the awards evening and the whole experience of attending a gala dinner.
Why do you think other people should sponsor the awards?
It’s a great opportunity to align your business with APS’ organisational values - highlighting how good design and health and safety practices can help reduce deaths, injury and ill-health, both physical and mental. As far as entering the awards go, everyone should give it a go. It’s totally free to enter and you never know, you might be surprised at your own achievements.
What are you looking forward to about the awards evening this year?
Relaxing with my team and thanking them for all their hard work during a very busy year, while celebrating the exceptional work produced by people within our industry.
There are a number of different sponsorship opportunities available and we’d love to talk to you a little more about how we can work together, like Tara, at Waterman Group.
