Three reasons why you should be at the National CDM and Student Design Awards

05/10/2017 - 09:43AM

With only two weeks to go before we arrive with our our glad rags and head on down to London for the 10th annual National CDM and Student Designer Awards, we wanted to take this opportunity to remind you why, if you haven’t already booked your ticket, now is the time to do it before it’s too late.

So, here it is, our top three reasons why you should be at the National CDM and Student Designer Awards this year.

ONE:  It’s about inspiring others!

The National CDM and Student Designer Awards are about coming together and demonstrating to the world that some of our Members are amongst the most highly skilled professionals in construction health and safety, working hard and collaborating with others, so that construction workers can return home happily and healthily to their families each and every day.

Even if you haven’t entered the awards this year or didn’t make the shortlist, we’d strongly recommend you still buy a ticket or two and come along to the evening.  Not only is it a great chance to let your hair down and enjoy the glitz and glam of such occasions, it’s also a chance to witness first-hand the incredible work our Members and their peers are doing across the construction health and safety industry – it may even inspire you with ideas for projects in the future.

TWO:   It’s about building relationships!

If you’re unfamiliar with the National CDM and Student Designer Awards, at the very core it’s about celebrating inspirational good practice in the construction health and safety sector, as well as providing others with a benchmark of excellence to work towards. Shortlisted projects and category winners provide brilliant examples of the exceptional work some of our Member over the past year have completed, acting as a beacon of professionalism and helping to push up standards in the industry.

Not only do the shortlisted entries attend, our fantastic sponsors are also there along with many other movers and shakers in the industry.  It’s a brilliant night to network and build relationships in a more relaxed environment, while learning from each other and developing your skills too.

THREE:   It’s about having fun!

As if points one and two weren't’t enough to convince you that you need a ticket to the hottest event in construction health and safety this year, we’re hoping this point will!

We know how challenging your jobs can be and that it’s not an easy task to operate at the very highest level of construction health and safety, and so we make sure that the awards evening embodies everything a celebration should be – a great venue, good food, entertainment and above all, the very best company.

Our awards evening is known across the industry as being a night not-to-miss; we’ve worked hard to push the boundaries even further as we celebrate a whole decade of the awards. In fact, this year the National CDM and Student Designer Awards are being presented by Piers Taylor, an award-winning architect and presenter of BBC’s The House that £100k Built. Just another reason not to miss…

* * *

This year the National CDM and Student Designer Awards takes place on Thursday 19th October at Gibside Hall in London.

Tickets are still available and you can purchase them through our website today.

We really do hope you can make it on the night – it really is a great evening and such a cause for celebration. In the meantime, we’d like to extend a massive thank you to our headline sponsor, Bell Group, and our other sponsors too – Bryan & Armstrong, Butler & Young, IIRSM and Waterman.  Without your continued support, the National CDM and Student Designer Awards would not be the success that they are today.

We’re looking forward to seeing you all there soon.
