Fire Safety on Construction Sites exam

Construction sites present significant potential for deaths, injuries and financial loss where fire risks are not managed appropriately.  Construction activities can place high-risk tasks in an environment where fires may spread quickly, escape can be difficult  and the workforce may be relatively transient. This examination tests understanding of legal requirements and industry standards:  passing the exam should demonstrate a broad understanding of how fire risks can be managed through practical site controls and good design.

This exam is intended to test your knowledge and understanding of fire safety in the UK construction industry (and a designer's response to addressing those issues).

Time limit for the exam: 1 hour

There will be 20 questions and you have 60 minutes in which to sit the exam.  Please note there may be multiple correct answers for some questions.

  • We suggest you set time aside to take the exam in a quiet uninterrupted space.
  • If you reach the 60 minute time limit and have not clicked submit, the exam will automatically time out and your answers will be submitted as they stand at that point.
  • On completion of the exam you will receive the result on screen.
  • If you pass the exam you do not need to do anything.
  • If you fail the exam instructions on how to resit will be displayed on the screen.
